SIGNED VINTAGE STUDIO POTTERY PORCELAIN TEA BOWL CREATED BY THE AMERICAN ARTIST THOMAS COLEMAN b. This wonderful thrown porcelain tea bowl is an excellent example of the studio art pottery created by the well known American potter Tom Coleman. This very pleasing Chawan altered and poked form tea bowl has a beautiful glaze finish throughout with one deep red glaze spot to the outer body. The bowl measures 3 1/2 inches high. The outside rim lip diameter measures 3 3/4 inches and the bottom base diameter is 1 7/8 inches. It is signed by the artist on the bottom: Coleman. Date of creation is unknown. This tea bowl will be a great addition to your Mid-Century Modern Studio Art Pottery and Ceramic Collection. The tea bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks and no crazing of the glaze. Potter Tom Coleman, born in 1945 in Amarillo, Texas, received his BFA in ceramics from the Pacific Northwest College of Art (formerly the Museum Art School) and at Reed College. He is a highly respected nationally known potter working with both porcelain and stoneware for over 35 years. Tom Coleman works with his wife Elaine out of their studio and gallery in Henderson, Nevada.
