Mid-Century Rupert Deese Pottery Studio Ceramic Art Bowl. From the estate of a close friend of famed watercolorist Millard Sheets, comes this Rupert Julian Reese 8 ¾ shallow bowl. If you are reading this you know Deese was an acclaimed studio and commercial potter, whose works are sought after by collectors and represents a part of the Mid-Century pottery movement. During this time, Deese friend and art associate Millard Sheets commissioned works for clients of his Claremont design studio before he retired to his Northern California Coastal home in Gualala, California. This piece was gifted to his friend, whose estate this was obtained from, before his passing. It is 8 ½ in diameter and 2 ½ tall. Great glaze and period leaf pattern. No chips, cracks or issues.
