Very large handmade charger plate or bowl measuring 17 1/4″ inches diameter with rim 3″ inches in height. Appears to be Japanese mingei pottery circa mid 20th century / 1950′s. Features geometric circular pattern with corresponding drips (Yin/Yang). It has several impressed stamps throughout and two pinched areas of the rim. It is signed on the base with two Asian character chop marks. This piece is reminiscent of the work by renowned artist and Japanese national treasure Shoji Hamada. Excellent condition without damage or repair. I can imagine this wonderful piece atop a Nakashima table.
