Japanese raku at it’s finest, this piece is gently formed from the footed base rising to a gracefully shaped bowl with a decorative indented horizontal line near the upper edge. The interior is quite unusual, this piece is remarkable well thrown with the indentation on the exterior as mentioned yet the interior of the bowl has those same indentations repeated all the way up the wall while the exterior remains smooth except for the one line. A beige glaze with pink undertones, the color is beautifully understated. There is a signature stamp on the bowl and an accompanying sheet of explanation written in Japanese.
