Pair of red transferware pearlware waste bowls. Both bowls are decorated in the Sower pattern by William Adams, but have different forms. Circa 1830 – 1840s. The bowl with the scalloped edge has a crack extending from the rim to the bottom of the bowl above the foot rim.

All pieces are impressed or signed in some way. Two have paper seal attached, will not remove. There are five pieces, including the tea pot top. Tea pot has two notches and one the top is put in place it is very secure for the poor. This is a piece the round bowl with a pansy inside has minor repairs on the edge, one is shown in the picture as good as I can. Person the repairs are not obvious in the bowl is very usable. It was probably used for sweet meats, or some other small delicacy. Or perhaps to place the infuser after the tea was made. In any case I have based my price on the four pieces and the bowl is just included as it is part of the original set, these are signed in impressed and they’re very good pieces. Measurements are as follows, sugar, approximately 3 inches tall and 3 1/2 wide, creamer three tall, approximately 3 1/2 wide from tip to handle, bowl 4 3/4 wide and 2 inches tall. Fiery Vintage William + Polia Pillin Orange Shallow Bowl, c. This is a collaborative work by William and Polia Pillin. Wheel thrown in a low bowl form, standing on a small pedestal base. Decorated with a gorgeous, streaky orange underglaze, with poured waves of thick yellow, orange and black glazes, covered with an overall glossy overglaze. The center of the bowl is very “hot” and vibrant; it looks like the center of an active volcanic crater. This is in excellent original condition, with no chips, cracks, or other problems. This bowl is also totally uncrazed. Signed “Pillin” in black slip underglaze on the pedestal base. Dimensions: 6″ in diameter (at widest) x 2-3/4″ high; the base is 2 in diameter.
