Likely English or French mocha ware in the’Aptware’ tradition. Lidded mochaware lidded bowl from the likely from the Provence region of France. Marbled earthenware in swirls in various shades of brown and beige. Lidded top with a central knop. Often called “aptware” after the region of France where it became popular in the 18th century. Some scattered glaze flakes, and one curious section where a raised daub of clay appears to have been applied around the time of manufacture (all visible in the images). This is an offering for a pristine Bauer Pottery Ring Ware yellow #12 mixing bowl with 2 rings on the interior. Mold marked BAUER 12 LOS ANGELES. This is as clean as we wish all pieces could be! Not the smallest hint of use inside or out and has no nicks, chips, cracks or repairs.

Anita was a prominent Hopi-Tewa potter from the First Mesa village of Sichomovi. She was active from the early 1940s. She learned from her mother, well known potter, Violet Huma. This bowl measures 3 1/4″ high by 6 1/4″ across. It is signed on the bottom and is in great all original vintage condition. Anita was known for her yellow-ware pottery such as this pot painted with Sikyatki Revival motifs. She hand-coiled her pots using native clay and natural pigments which produced a variegated yellow color in the traditional outdoor firing. Here is a Jeffords Yellow Ware Antique Bowl. Circa: 1800′s This bowl measures 8″ wide on top of bowl and 4.25″ Tall. This is a Molded Embossed Design with a Beaded Band below the rim. There is a little bit of pitting inside the bottom of the bowl and some on the bottom of the bowl. There are also a couple of tiny nicks on the rim and on the bottom of the bowl. This product is a set of beautiful vintage Italian dinnerware designed for 12 people. Made in Italy, the dinnerware features a classic and elegant design with a vintage pattern. SAYS ARG800 on backs.

First of all, this stunning bowl is canary ware not yellow ware. Canary ware is pottery with a rich yellow glaze applied over white clay, whereas the color in yellow ware comes from the clay not the glaze. This rare bowl is decorated with attractive black transfer scenes on both sides of the bowl of a couple enjoying tea outdoors with a servant and dog watching them. The detail in the transfer patterns is very crisp and is even more stunning in person than as shown in the photos. Measuring 6 ½ in diameter the bowl is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The inside of the foot rim has a void in the clay from molding and doesn’t detract when upright. The bowl rings like a bell when you tap the rim.
