Vintage German Stoneware Pottery Soup Tureen / Punch bowl Beer Stein Set 8 Cups. “Gluhwein” pot traditionally used in Germany to serve warm mulled wine or rum punch at Christmas. It can of course be used as a traditional punch bowl or even as a soup tureen. It is deeply embossed with grapes, leaves & vines & depictions of various castles on the Rhine river. Some of the castles include Drachenfels, Ruine Mans, Manseturm, Feindt Bruder, Marksburg, Burg Lachnech, Ruine Godesberg, Burg Katz, Burg Sonnech, Burg Rheinstein. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, scratches or stains. It measures about 9″ tall & 10″ wide. It is very heavy. The set also includes 8 mugs or steins, each is 4 tall. Large Soup Tureen or Punch Bowl – we’re thinking Egg Nog or Mulled Wine for the holidays. Large vessel, 6 matching mugs. Large piece – heavy as well. Castles of the Rhein and the Mosel Rivers on the bowl. Neiderwald, Stolzenfels, Deutscheseck, and Rheinstein on the mugs. We love all the little details – the little man is sitting on with his basket of grapes – the handles on the mugs are made to look like wood. The bowl is appx. 7 5/8 at the highest point w/o the lid appx. 13″ with the lid in place x 13″ handle to handle x 8.5 across at the widest points. Each mug is appx. 3 2/8″ at the highest point x 5 1/8″ from side to handle at the widest points x 3 7/8 across at the widest points. Picture 10 shows the markings on the bottom of the mugs.
