This Mashiko piece has interesting glazed decoration over its simple form. The front side has a beige glaze with thick drips of bluish green from the edges. The back side is tan, with less pronounced drips near the edges. The piece weighs 5 pounds 15.4 ounces, unpacked. It has a sleek, coupe shape. It is approximately 2 5/8 inches tall, with a maximum width of about 14 5/8 inches. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Japanese studio ceramics. Identification This unmarked plate is believed to be Mashiko pottery, from Japan. It is vintage, but the exact age is not known. Condition This piece looks very good, with no chips or cracks.
