Standing 11.75 in height, the shallow dish measures 8.5 in diameter and is 2 deep. The monkey base measures 8.5 in length and is 5 wide. No hallmark is found. Very light uniform crazing is seen on close inspection but is not visible unless intentionally looking for it under bright light and is not distracting. The piece is in beautiful condition no chips, cracks, stains, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. This listing is for a vintage studio pottery footed bowl or tazza, made by Alan Caiger Smith of the Aldermaston Pottery, and probably dating from c. The bowl is of a deep round form, standing on a knopped stem and round flared foot, it is decorated with a brushed line design in a grey colour, with a vibrant mottled red lustre glaze effect in filling, on a white tin-glazed ground. It measures 6 3/4″ high and 8 1/4″ across the top. There is a small hairline to the rim, hardly noticeable, and possibly from firing, otherwise in excellent condition, with no damage or restoration.
