Roseville Vintage Pottery Moss Footed Bowl/Compote, Shape 291-5, Sapphire (Blue). Small round footed bowl with side handles. Sometimes called Florida Moss or Southern Moss, this pattern features the weeping tendrils of the Spanish moss plant, which grows on trees in the southeastern United States. Soft mottled blue background glaze gives a textured effect. Tan moss and branches and green leaves. Middle Period, introduced 1936. Condition: A tiny, pinpoint glaze pop or skip on the edge of the base. No other chips, cracks or repairs. A couple of factory glaze pinholes, and a small mold flaw on the base.
