Very nice Native American Hopi polychrome shallow bowl. Measures approximately 6.5 across. Features a unique mimbres inspired fish design. There may be a very faint remnant of a signature on the back but nothing discernable. Very good condition, no major chips, cracks, or major scratches. Beth Sakeva was a pioneer in Hopi pottery coming from the Tewa Village on Arizona’s 2nd Mesa. She was born in 1926 and produced her beautiful black on red bowls for many years. She passed on in 1974. I feel her creations will be a great collector items for many years with this one no exception.

This vintage Native American Hopi Pueblo pottery bowl with bird wing design is handmade by ancient traditional methods, made from coiled clay & natural pigments. It is a beautiful representation of Hopi tribal affiliation and Native American culture. It is unsigned which is typical of pottery c. Style and design typical of Nampeyo. There is a small chip on the lower base of the pot. Also, some minor rubbing consistent with age and use. Please enlarge & look at photos carefully as they are a large part of the description.

Unnamed, rare pattern fruit or punch bowl by Doulton featuring flow blue and gorgeous polychrome pink and green flowers and leaves. It appears to be a cottage rose. No chips or cracks. The foot has a couple of rough spots and there is a deep stilt mark on the rim under the gold. This bowl dates to the 1890s. Size: 9.25″ W x 6.5″ H. Emma Naha, active since 1970, black and red on orange seed jars, wedding vases, favorite designs are parrots and has been published in Bassman 1997. Vernida Polacca Nampeyo b. 1955 is a great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano and a granddaughter of Fannie Nampeyo through her father, Harold Polacca. She is a sister of noted potters Clinton Polacca and Reva Ami. Vernida is known for her finely painted traditionally designed Hopi pottery. This bowl is painted with bee-weed and clay slips for additional color. The design is a classic eagle tail pattern that extends from the mouth to the shoulder. The bowl was traditionally fired which resulted in the color variations on the surface. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, Vernida Polacca Nampeyo. Measures 3 1/4″ high x 4 1/2″ diameter.
