This sale is for a big set of Lefton Miss Dainty kitchenware in good used condition. You get: cookie jar with lid, salt & pepper shakers, a creamer, & a sugar bowl with lid. I’ve tried to show all the faults in photos – and I’ll describe each piece separately. The cookie jar (photos 5-8) is in very good condition; no chips, nicks, or cracks. The sugar bowl includes the lid and is in good condition; the jar has 3 small chips, (photo 3 shows 2 of them) – one on the blue bow and one on the hat’s edge. The other chip is on the other side, again on the edge of the hat. The lid is very good. The creamer is in very good condition (photo 2); no damage but a little crazing. The salt & pepper shakers (photos 8 – 11) seem to have had the most use. On one shaker there are 5 or 6 little nicks & some light crazing. The other shaker has 2 or 3 small nicks & some crazing. On the shakers the majority of the nicks are on the hat’s edges. Now that’s I’ve pointed out all the faults, the good news is how adorable this set displays. I’d say the majority of the damage does not really show unless your are examining them closely. They have Lefton stickers, numbers & made in Japan on the bottoms. Teapot Measures approximately 6″ high x 8 1/2″ across (spout to handle) x 5 1/2 wide. Creamer Measures approximately 3 1/4″ high x 4 3/4″ across (spout to handle) x 3 1/2 wide. Sugar Bowl Measures approximately 4 3/4″ high x 4 3/8″ across. On the bottom of the teapot is the number 321. Wonderful HUGE McCarty Pottery Lidded Water Bottom Vessel or Bowl. Signed McCarty Merigold Miss. This lidded bowl has an exquisite sophisticated shape demonstrating the elegance of this McCarty design. Vessel measures approx 9 1/2 inches across and approx 5 1/2 inches high. The bottom bowl has NO chips or cracks. The lid has a possible chip on the inside edge of the interior lid lip which rests inside the bottom bowl (see pic). I’m not sure if this is a chip, or a firing clay pop which occurred at the time it was made. It is only noticeable upon close inspection, but I want to be clear about the piece’s condition. As can be seen in another pic it is not visible when looking at the lid from the side (the black pen points to its location in the pic). Also there are two large bubbles in the glass water bottom glaze which have popped. These occurred at the time of manufacture and can only be seen when looking at the lid from a shallow angle and illuminated by a side light. I photographed the lid in this manner which shows the pops in the most exaggerated manner as they are hard to see when looking at the vessel from any other angle.
