I love the feel of this bowl. The satin matte cobalt blue glaze looks and feels so amazing you won’t want to use it! Signed on the bottom by Luna Garcia. I can’t find any comps for this giant 14.5 size anywhere. No chip, cracks or scratches. Amazing condition for the age. Luna Garcia Pottery was a studio created in 1979 by artists Cindy and Curtis Ripley. They specialized in functional tableware characterized by simple, elegant, handmade shapes with satin matte colored glazes. Their studio was located in Venice Beach, California. Their pottery pieces became collectible and were featured in fine art galleries and homes worldwide. They were known for being sturdy and versatile, appearing on the tables of notable Westside restaurants like Gjelina, Rustic Canyon, and Huckleberry. While their items are considered “instant collectibles, ” the studio has since closed several years ago, making their pieces highly sought after.

This is a Stangl Art Deco oval bowl in the “Twilight Blue” color. It was designed by Johann Martin Stangl. The piece is from the mid 1920 – 1930s. Stangl Pottery was located in Flemington, New Jersey. It features a distinctive fluted exterior design. This is an early piece that is highly collectible using a matte glaze prior to the later designs of the 1950′s.

A bowl hand by Klytie Pate in a pastel blue of turquoise lustre glaze wit a matte black interior. Pt’s incised signature is on the underside. In good vintage condition, some age-related crazing is present, plus couple of small paint losses to the black interior. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are purely light reflections from the camera flash. The item will first be wrapped bubble before packing securely in a solid box with lots of peanuts – earthquake proof. Just occasionally this could extend to 2-3 days, however.

Offering this vintage set of 4 bowls with lettuce or cabbage leaf design and matte green glaze, and no damage. I can’t tell if they have a makers mark, nothing that I can make out for sure, but have some hints on two that maybe somethings there, lots of close ups provided. When I first saw these I thought they must be by Patricia Garrett but I unfortunately can’t confirm that hope. Measure 8 3/8 inches long by 8 1/2 inches wide by 2 7/8 inches tall. They weigh about 1 pound 4 ounces each.
