A pair of circular earthenware bowls with shaped central division of’yin yang’ form – internally two colour glazed. One segment is turquoise glazed, the second ash glazed with a’crackle’ finish. Externally, both examples are decorated with incised foliage and inscriptions – see pictures. Both bases are impressed with the Yixing seal – picture 11. Diameter – 4 5/8″ (118mm), height – 1 3/4″ (45mm). Total weight – 601 grams. The overall condition is Good. A small’hairline’ crack to the turquoise section of one bowl, originating at the rim, (hard to see) – Image 12 details this area. No restoration or repairs. Fez Pottery, Morocco – dating from the first half of the 20th century. A wheel thrown pottery bowl of charger form. The bowl rests on an integral collet type foot, (the foot rim incorporates a single piercing, allowing a wall suspension loop to be fitted). The interior is embellished with polychrome enamelled decoration – the decoration incorporates an inscribed central cartouche. Overall diameter – 9 1/4 (235mm). Weight – 738 grams. Condition – Very Good. Very minor rubbing and surface marks, (consistent with some age). Natural colour and patina.
