Anita was a prominent Hopi-Tewa potter from the First Mesa village of Sichomovi. She was active from the early 1940s. She learned from her mother, well known potter, Violet Huma. This bowl measures 3 1/4″ high by 6 1/4″ across. It is signed on the bottom and is in great all original vintage condition. Anita was known for her yellow-ware pottery such as this pot painted with Sikyatki Revival motifs. She hand-coiled her pots using native clay and natural pigments which produced a variegated yellow color in the traditional outdoor firing. Very nice Native American Hopi polychrome shallow bowl. Measures approximately 6.5 across. Features a unique mimbres inspired fish design. There may be a very faint remnant of a signature on the back but nothing discernable. Very good condition, no major chips, cracks, or major scratches. Created during the forties by Beth Sakeva, this vintage Hopi bowl is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The bowl measures 3 inches high, 5.5 inches wide, and weighs a little over 1 lb. Beth Sakeva was a pioneer in Hopi pottery coming from the Tewa Village on Arizona’s Second Mesa. She was born in 1926 and produced her beautiful black on red bowls for many years. She passed in 1974. This stunning bowl she created will be a great addition to any collection or the perfect one to begin a collection.

Vintage Hopi Pot Bowl SIGNED Ethel Youvella 3.5″x7.25″ Native American Pottery. Overall, good condition, no chips/cracks. There is some minor wear/marks – see pictures. The shading on the inside, in the pictures, is shadows, not a darker variation of the color. She was a niece of famous Hopi-Tewa potter Grace Chapella. The bowl is most likely circa 1950′s-1960′s, but I’m not 100% sure. The dimensions are approximate, but very close. A classic shape elegantly formed and a well-painted example by a highly respected Hopi potter. Please review the pictures well and carefully. The bowl measures 6.5 inches high, 6.5 inches wide, approx 20 inches in circumference, and weighs a little over 2 lbs. Presented today is this beautiful Hopi vintage ceramic bowl, depicting 2 highly stylized Eagles in the Sikyatki Revival Style. The piece is 7 inches across and 4 inches tall. It dates from around 1940. It is the work of M. Mahle, whom i believe is the mother of the famous Gloria Mahle. The work is beautiful, and shows a predictable amount of fading on the decoration. The piece displays a broken spirit line, a traditional motif that usually predates pottery intended for resale. There are no chips or cracks. These have a great look to them and are free of any chips or cracks. The detailing is really beautiful. There may be some surface wear from age which is to be expected.
