This wonderful and unique bowl was designed by Hilkka-Liisa Ahola for Arabia Finland. Hillka Liisa worked for Arabia from 1947 up till 1974. In 1968 she was awarded Grand Prix, in Faenza Ceramic Biennale and as a ceramist she was given an opportunity to work in Arabia’s Art Department. Characteristics of her work are her free, bold and expressive brushstrokes, and many of her designs include the use of blue hued floral motifs. The bowl is handpainted in various green, blue, purple , gray and brown colors and not two plates will be quite alike. The iridescent accents add the whimsical feel to it. The plate is marked Arabia Finland HLA (the designer name) and LD (the painter). The condition is very good with no cracks, chips or crazing, and the colours are bright.
