1940′s Dorothy Kindell turtle trinket box. (or what every you choose to use it for). The glaze has crazing to it. When looking at the close up pictures of the crazing, please remember that they are close up pictures. 2 chips on one foot. There are 2 pictures of his foot with the spots. The picture of the side of his foot has 3 white spots showing. The spot to the left is the chip and the other 2 spots is the foot reflecting the sunlight. I think the very end of its tail has a tiny spot of glaze missing. I do not think it is chipped, but which every it maybe, there is a tiny spot/issue on the end of its tail. White dot on the top of its head. You cannot feel it when you run your fingernail across it. Great color and shine. Inside its belly is clean. Great display piece and very hard to find. This is a rare piece of Dorothy Kindell’s work, ca. 1940′s and the detail on this piece is well executed. There were a series of 6 of these. This one is number 4 and is numbered on the piece. The words “Delaying Action” is on this one. There is an actual license number on the back of the automobile. A French policeman is blowing a whistle with a Black woman and French poodle chasing the vehicle. There is an older asian man in the vehicle. The outside has a green glossy. Finish with a yellow gloss interior. There is a minor interior imperfection (hairline crack) that is shown in photo and can be felt with a fingernail. Vintage Dorothy Cole Auman Seagrove Pottery North Carolina Large Blue Punch. Up for your consideration is. A Gorgeous Large Vintage Seagrove North Carolina Blue Brown Glazed Pottery Punch Bowl by Dorothy Cole Auman. I would say this is a one of a kind punch bowl. Dorothy Cole Auman and her husband, Walter, died in a tragic automobile accident in 1991. I bought this punch bowl along with over 80 matching cups from a woman that had Miss Dorothy as a babysitter when she was growing up. The glaze on this bowl is stunning. It is an earthy blue tipped and infused with a brown color. The approximate measurement of the bowl is 14 ½ in diameter and 7 high. This bowl is also very heavy at 9 pounds. The condition of the bowl is excellent pre-owned vintage condition. There are no chips or breaks. There are irregularities in the glaze. The bottom inside of the bowl has some veins in the surface-see last photo. They do not seem to go all the way through to the underside.
