This is a Stangl Art Deco oval bowl in the “Twilight Blue” color. It was designed by Johann Martin Stangl. The piece is from the mid 1920 – 1930s. Stangl Pottery was located in Flemington, New Jersey. It features a distinctive fluted exterior design. This is an early piece that is highly collectible using a matte glaze prior to the later designs of the 1950′s.

Yellowware Pottery Nesting Mixing Bowls from Ruckel Pottery of Illinois! The term “yellowware” derives from the yellow-hued clay used to create this type of kitchenware that includes mixing bowls, butter crocks, and pudding molds. Yellowware was produced in America for about 100 years, from 1830 to 1930. This is a molded decoration in the popular “Inverted Picket” pattern from Ruckel. These are highly collectible. Very little wear and is in very good vintage condition. Some slice marks that appear to have happened in production. Please see photos and zoom in.

Shinny inside and out. LARGE, at 10 1/4″ across the rim and 6″ tall. There is a hairline on the interior bottom that extends to the outside bottom but you can see it is original to the piece the glaze pours into the crack on the outside. See last two photos above. This bowl is beautiful it was a estate sale find. Measures 14 in wide 6 1/2 in high made by the Osborne company definitely has art Deco art nouveau vibe. It’s in good condition. This listing is for a Vintage 1930s Art Deco Gladding McBean California Pottery “Tropico” Pattern # 51 Chinese Flower Bowl / Footed Centerpiece Bowl. It stands on 3 scroll feet. It has a fantastic glossy orange glaze. Marked on bottom with “GMCB” oval ink stamp (photos 7 and 8). It is in excellent condition overall with no chips, cracks, or repairs. All rims and edges look perfect. Just one larger factory glaze miss on side of exterior (photo 23). Could easily be touched up to not be as noticeable. Some usual factory glaze bubbles (photo 24). Very clean in and out. Please view photos carefully as they are my main description. (White spots in pictures are glare / lighting from photos and not actually on the item). It is pretty big and fragile weighing 2.3 lbs before packing and will be securely packaged and double boxed. It measures 9 3/4″ across and 3 1/2″ tall.
