Original box has mark on the side: From Pitman Dreitzer Company Inc, Specialty Salad Set, Waldorf 335 from Homer Laughlin China. The large 9 salad bowls were likely made just for this promotional specialty salad set, which you typically find alone (we have a standalone one in the store). This Rhythm line set is classic mid century modern and timeless. The bowl design is beautiful and sleek with just a simple, round line. A great color for Christmas, the holidays, or for your green loving friend! Designed by Don Schreckengost, Rhythm was a plain round coupe shape line of dinnerware developed in the spring of 1950. Rhythm was put into production on September 25, 1950, and was made with decals and in five solid colors: burgundy, chartreuse, forest green, gray, and Harlequin yellow. Solid colored Rhythm was part of the general trade and was carried by many retailers. Rhythm flatware was sometimes paired with hollowware from other shapes to create new lines. Rhythm flatware was often mixed with Cavalier Eggshell hollowware. Dura-Print lines called for Rhythm flatware with Charm House (and later Studio) hollowware. Condition: New in box! Vintage Barbara Willis Pottery Bowl Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Barbara Willis pottery tray or bowl. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This rectangular piece has a chartreuse crackle glaze to its interior and the remainder is textured clay with a light brown finish. It measures approximately 2 inches tall, 14 1/4 inches long, and 11 1/4 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 6 pounds 4.8 ounces. This would make a wonderful addition to a collection of mid-century modern California art pottery. Identification This unmarked piece is guaranteed to be vintage Barbara Willis pottery. Some of her pieces were unmarked. Condition This piece has no chips or cracks. It has light wear to the brown finish, and the base has some wear scratches (as expected for vintage, heavy, unglazed clay). There are small glaze skips and tiny bubble indents to the chartreuse glaze, as made. The glaze is intentionally crackled. Terms of Sale 1.
