Vintage Dorothy Cole Auman Seagrove Pottery North Carolina Large Blue Punch. Up for your consideration is. A Gorgeous Large Vintage Seagrove North Carolina Blue Brown Glazed Pottery Punch Bowl by Dorothy Cole Auman. I would say this is a one of a kind punch bowl. Dorothy Cole Auman and her husband, Walter, died in a tragic automobile accident in 1991. I bought this punch bowl along with over 80 matching cups from a woman that had Miss Dorothy as a babysitter when she was growing up. The glaze on this bowl is stunning. It is an earthy blue tipped and infused with a brown color. The approximate measurement of the bowl is 14 ½ in diameter and 7 high. This bowl is also very heavy at 9 pounds. The condition of the bowl is excellent pre-owned vintage condition. There are no chips or breaks. There are irregularities in the glaze. The bottom inside of the bowl has some veins in the surface-see last photo. They do not seem to go all the way through to the underside. Vintage Royal Crown North Carolina Pottery Bowl Description and Item Information Up for sale is this wonderful piece of vintage North Carolina art pottery. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This handthrown bowl has a beautiful green rutile glaze with minor areas of ochre/tan. This piece has a ruffled rim, with applied loop handles to either side. The bowl measures approximately 11 3/8 inches long by 9 3/4 inches wide by 3 1/8 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds 9.1 ounces, unpacked. It would be a great addition to a collection of southern folk art. Identification This vintage bowl was made in Merry Oaks, North Carolina at the Royal Crown Pottery (circa 1939 to 1942). It has a Royal Crown ink mark beneath, as shown in Photo 6. Condition This piece looks very good overall, with no cracks or chips, and very light wear.
