Some discoloration/staining under lid and interior (as shown). Some nicks around interior lip of bowl. Light wear to base. ½ glaze scrape on side of exterior footed base. One side appears to have a slight raised seam line from the making which extends down to the footed base. At bottom of footed base, a very slight separation in the glaze (as shown). Please notice lid was decorated more in in an all-over purple color where rim is blue. We strongly believe this is the way it was crafted. Please be sure this is suitable for your taste. This product is a very rare antique American 1800s large 14 bowl of yellow ware, originating from Pennsylvania. The bowl features a floral pattern and is made of yellow ware, showcasing the craftsmanship of the Jeffords brand. It has a small hairline craze, as shown. It feels like it has been there a long time. There is a blue streak that is glazed over and a piece of unglazed clay as shown. Overall great antique condition. This one is heavy and impressive.

LATE 18TH- EARLY 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE FRENCH QUIMPER HAND DECORATED FIGURATIVE. Early French antique decorated ceramic art. 8″ in Diameter x 1 ¾ ” Height. Offered for your review and careful consideration is this absolutely authentic and original late 18th to early 19th century antique French Quimper, wheel thrown, hand decorated, figurative ceramic bowl, featuring a long tailed, brightly colored, gold, blue and olive spotted swift or swallow in mid-flight, with its wings outstretched and legs following behind and a sill decorated with flowers. This particular period antique French Quimper ceramic bowl was one of four antique Quimper bowls found in a greater Boston, Massachusetts estate, where the female owner was of Belgian descent who spoke Flemish and only relocated to the United States after marrying an American citizen at the end of the Second World War, with her American husband serving in the US Armed Forces in the epic international struggle against German fascism. This antique bowl hung in their Arlington, Massachusetts’ home for over 50 years and was never removed from the nail upon which it hung on the wall of the kitchen of their well-appointed Arts & Crafts period home. The bowl’s age and antique pedigree is vetted and authentic and custodial provenance is available if requested. The bowl remains untouched, unadulterated and unmolested. This antique French Quimper decorated ceramic figurative bowl is from the collection of a Belgian woman who lived with the bowls in her family’s home in Antwerp, Belgian, only to take them and all of her Flemish European furniture with her when she relocated and moved to the United States of America. It is unusual to find not only one but four of these over two-hundred year old, late 18th century bowls here in a single estate in the United States. It is with real enthusiasm and excitement that I have the opportunity to offer this and the other three comparable French Quimper ceramic bowls for sale to the public now. Gorgeous and with wonderful figurative drawing on the bowl’s basin and rim. Simply magnificent and very rare. Very Good to Excellent overall vintage condition.

Antique large oval serving platter featuring elegant raised gold gilt decoration on a soft ivory porcelain ground. The piece displays a beautifully scalloped edge with applied gilt floral and foliate motifs, consistent with fine European/Bavarian style tableware from the late 19th to early 20th century. This platter is unmarked but closely resembles known Bavarian porcelain examples (including Marlboro-style pieces) in form, glaze, and raised gilt detailing. Likely English or French mocha ware in the’Aptware’ tradition. Lidded mochaware lidded bowl from the likely from the Provence region of France. Marbled earthenware in swirls in various shades of brown and beige. Lidded top with a central knop. Often called “aptware” after the region of France where it became popular in the 18th century. Some scattered glaze flakes, and one curious section where a raised daub of clay appears to have been applied around the time of manufacture (all visible in the images).
