DESCRIPTION: This exceptional mid-Century example is a low bowl with a wide, angled concave rim and a deep rounded interior. The latter is adorned with a museum quality Cubist depiction of overlapping fish and humanoid creatures one of which is inside the fish and shares a pair of eyes with it. These masterful sgrafitto images are set against a matte chocolate brown glaze. The rim of the bowl is a stunning glossy mottled mahogany and it beautifully frames the pots artful interior. The walls of the underside have a matte rusty brown glaze. This highly collectible piece measures 7 3/8 in diameter and stands 1 1/4 tall at the rim. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and is signed on the bottom.
