A Roseville Bushberry green 1941 Mid Century Modern Art Pottery Ceramic Bowl 412-6 with beautiful molded detail and gorgeous green glaze. In very good original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs identified. There is crazing on he inside of the bowl and the bottom of the foot which is only visible in bright sunlight and a minor glazed over dent to the rim edge which originates from production. There is also a drip of brown glaze on the end of one berry cluster which I think some might consider a production defect. See photos for condition issues. Bottom marked with Roseville and shape number. Dimensions are 3 1/4″ tall and 8 3/4″ wide.

What an absolutely handsome Vintage Mid Century Modern Edna Arnow Chicago Studio Art Pottery Lava Glaze 12-3/8 Bowl, masterfully glazed in blue and a sugary white with lots of glaze pops in a volcanic lave style and hand thrown by a true potter quite textural more beautiful in person, a must have! For more than 40 years, Edna Arnow made stoneware pottery in the basement of her house in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side. Largely self-taught, she became a well-known and respected craftswoman in the Midwest. She developed distinctive textured glazes and clay bodies. In the 1950s, she was part of an artists’ coop gallery, Exhibit A, with potter Earl Hooks and others. She had exhibitions at The Art Institute of Chicago and The Chicago Public Library. She appeared on local televison, giving demonstrations and taught at the Evanston Art Center. Most weekends during the summer, she and her husband, Robert-who made pottery, too, but worked as a Chicago policeman-packed up the Pontiac station wagon with functional ware for art fairs around the city and suburbs. For some 30 years, she always went to the art fairs at Old Town, The South Side, Evanston and Oak Park-and often did others as well.
