An absolutely beautiful, one-of-a-kind, extremely large, Red Wing lunch hour piece. The bowl itself is cut on a bias Town & Country, 13 salad bowl designed by Eva Zeisel in 1947. The inside of the bowl is a gorgeous crackled turquoise with a stylized black motif. The outside i s glazed dusty rose, interrupted only by the artists fingerprints. It was used on dinnerware as a decorative color rather than an art-pottery glaze. The bottom indicates that this was a gift piece from “Robin” to “Maggie” in 1948. Perfect for any serious Red Wing pottery collector. I was told by a Red Wing Pottery expert that it may well be the largest example of a lunch hour piece known to exist. A gorgeous rare vintage mid century hand painted Eva Zeisel Design Monmouth duck oven proof Ironstone serving dish, pottery in white with black accents. The bottom is also marked Schmid NKT. Hand painted beautiful fine stoneware, glazed ceramic bowl. Whimsical and rare, overall a great piece by one of the twentieth centuries most important designers.
