Prussia Porcelain Lidded Sugar Bowl & Creamer Putti & Moriage. Item- Set, lidded sugar bowl & creamer. Pattern- Hand painted roses, Moriage, and Putti. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this beautiful little set of lidded sugar bowl & creamer by R. This is a petite, beautiful set of compote lidded sugar bowl & creamer. The maker is R. Prussia and each carries the makers mark. The pattern is a transfer of roses trimmed in hand painted matte gold lustre with a moriage dot pattern, and scroll work done in bright gold lustre. In addition, on each of the pieces there are small images of putti, on the creamer the figure is holding a staff in one hand, and holding a bird aloft in the other, on the sugar bowl the figure floats before a lectern reading a book. The lip of the creamer, and the sugar bowl is trimmed in a deep red accented with a hand painted open leaf pattern. The lid to the sugar bowl is not original to the set. The Creamer stands approximately 4 7/16 inches tall, it is approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter, the base is 2 inches in diameter. This creamer weighs approximately 3.3 ounces. The Sugar bowl, with a lid that is married, stands approximately 5 3/8 inches tall, it is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter, the base is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. This creamer measures approximately 5 3/8 inches wide, handle to handle. This creamer weighs approximately 6.4 ounces. Condition- The condition of both these pieces is very good. There are some issues that we must report. First, the gold lustre accents on the handles of the sugar bowl, and the base of the creamer show signs of wear, The Second issue is that there is a very slight warp in the base of the sugar bowl, resulting in a very, very, slight rocking. Third- There is some gold luster border trim that has worn away beneathe the red trim, opposite the side with the putti image, finally the gold lustre has worn behind the scrolls in right field above the Putti image. But none of these issues detracts from the overall beauty of these two pieces. If you are collector of R. Prussia porcelain, this set will make a truly wonderful addition to your collection.
