Offering this set of four studio pottery bowls by Guillermo Cuellar. They have a wonderful white shino glaze with black abstract decoration. All are in excellent condition, no damage or repairs. They are all approx. 2 1/2 inches high, 6 1/2 inches wide on top and 2 1/4 inches wide on the bottom. Items are insured and tracking is uploaded for your protection as well as mine. Post Office for reimbursement. I will send you the necessary receipts for you to file a claim with the Post Office. This is the U. Mint – Warren MacKenzie Mingei Pottery Large bowl. Green glaze with beautiful color decorations. New – Mint Beautiful Warren MacKenzie Green glazed bowl. The bowl measures 6 inches wide x 4 inches high. This is an opportunity to own a wonderful authentic piece of warren Mackenzie’s work. To the casual observer determining the origin of Warren’s pottery may seam difficult but to the trained eye a MacKenzie pot can be deducted quite simply with the following criteria. Warren uses a stoneware clay body mfg at continental clay. This clay body is a custom stoneware blend with iron added to it. The clay body without glaze will be warrens own unique color with iron spots in it. Warren uses his wire to cut and remove the soft clay body from the potters wheel. This creates a “thumbprint” swirling effect on the bottom of the pot that is distinctly his. The style with which Warren MacKenzie is able to convey a soft “loose” pot and still retain the integrity of the shape. Warren uses only certain types and styles of glazes. Warren’s work is hand dipped. On most occasions you can see where he has held the pot while dipping in the glaze. Warren is a production potter. He typically produces similar shapes or forms of pottery. Warren studied under Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada. He has developed a style that has borrowed from his teacher and uniquely his own. From books to pictures on the web. There are countless examples of Warrens work to be viewed, studied and compared. This is just one piece of my large collection. A large and colorful console bowl with handles and a design of zephyr lilies that is glazed in warm tones. The designs on the front and back are different, and they are deeply molded. The rounded shallow foot is unglazed and shows the buff colors of the clay body. The base is glazed. There is a molded mark on the base that reads Roseville U. 8 – 10 There is a handwritten letter H and the number 22 in black on the base. 10 ¾” (27.3 cm) diameter x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 15.8 oz (1340 g). There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There is an old and tiny glaze frit on the rim that has been worn nearly smooth. The glazes feel very smooth. There are manufacture flaws like pin hole reserves. The bowl has a nice soft aged appearance. A great bowl to hold fruit, flowers or nothing. A great addition to a Roseville collection. Offering this Warren Mackenzie large vintage footed bowl from a collector’s private collection. It has a very nice shino white-tan glaze with iron spots and finger swipe decoration. It measures 2 3/8 inches high, 10 1/4 inches wide on top and approx. 5 1/2 inches wide across the feet. It is a great piece even with the minor flaw.
