She learned the Santa Clara ways, then moved to San Juan Pueblo when she got married. When her grandmother passed away in 1980, Sharon made the decision to make pottery full time. Since then she has specialized in making large blackware jars with carved avanyu designs or with impressed bear paw designs on her polished pots. She also sometimes makes seedpots and vases in black and red ware. In 2003 Sharon won the Best in Show award at the annual Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show. LETS MAKE A DEAL. 3 1/2″ (top opening), 2 1/4″ (base), 5 1/2″ across (at widest part) and 3″ tall. This has no major chips and no cracks or repairs. There are some rub spots to the black paint, yellowed adhesive sticker residue on the base and bottom of of one side and some surface flea bites to paint. Please review the pictures for condition details. This is marked on the base Acoma N. And I believe it to either have been made by the famed Lucy M. Hand-made 1991 Luna Garcia terra cotta serving plate/ platter and matching bowl. A fun serving set designed with PEPPERS and accented with lots of RAISED decorative details. This is a very nice, HEAVY-DUTY set that is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION. NO chips, cracks or repairs – may be some slight crazing.
