Presenting a fabulous Australian studio pottery bowl expertly hand crafted and signed by Eric Juckert. This exceptional example has a sleek modernist form, an exquisite glaze and a striking impressed geometric pattern similar in nature to mid century Italian Bitossi pieces. This superb piece has been beautifully decorated with impressed circles arranged to form concentric circles within the base. An additional band of impressed dots trims the top rim creating a perfectly balanced and wonderfully unified piece. The sleekly rounded form has been finished in an attractive turquoise blue atop a copper oxide glaze which creates random mottles of dark green throughout and adds fabulous definition to the impressed pattern. The layers of glaze blend and combine to create a gorgeous range of tones and random glaze effects. This is an exceptionally fine example of Eric Juckert pottery! This superb bowl is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. This impressive piece stands approx 48mms tall and measures 160mms in diameter. This piece has Eric Juckerts boldly incised signature to the base. Eric Juckert (1918 – 2005) was taught the art of potting by the renowned Una Deerbon. After spending some time in England Juckert re-established his studio on Phillip Island where he continued to pot until 1992. There is no doubting Juckert’s quality studio pieces will continue to rise in value in the coming years.
