Clarice Cliff Bizarre Art Deco VTG c1930 Newport Pottery 8 Covered Dish Ltd Ed

This is a lovely authentic original signed and numbered limited edition Clarice Cliff covered dish in the Art Deco style of the late 1920s. The covered dish or toureen is hand painted and has an opening on the side of the lid for a serving spoon. Her “Bizarre” design features a house, tree, cloud, and meadow in shades of green, yellow and red. The condition for this vintage item should be considered excellent. The colors are vivid. There are no cracks, chips, or craze lines. On very close inspection you may notice that some tiny spots of the hand painting are flecked off. The photos provide an accurate accounting of this. I have for sale this collectable vintage bowl. Made by Newport Pottery as part of the Clarice Cliff Bizarre range. This is decorated in the Melons pattern. It has an approx diameter of 18.8cm. Condition is good , no chips or cracks. There are 3 firing marks on the interior of the bowl , small small scratches to the paint in places & a couple of firing imperfections on the base. Large Clarice Cliff Bowl. In the’Nasturtium’ Pattern. Fine example of a popular Clarice Cliff pattern beautifully hand painted on a large bowl with a wavy rim. The bowl displays very well and is unmistakably Clarice Cliff. The pattern itself depicts painted flowers in red, orange and yellow over a brown Cafe-Au-Lait ground with an inner yellow rim. The bowl is fully stamped on the underneath with Bizarre by Clarice Cliff. The bowl is in good condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and it is free from crazing. There are some light rubbing marks on the inside of the bowl commensurate with age and use and some minor surface scratches and marks around the outside of the bowl but nothing detrimental. The colours have remained bright and vibrant and it displays very well. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask. Clarice Cliff Conical Bowl. In the’Gayday’ Pattern. Good example of a popular Clarice Cliff pattern beautifully hand painted onto a small conical sugar bowl. The pattern shows red, orange and purple flowers amidst green leaves around a brown centre with yellow banding and a black rim. The bowl is a desirable conical shape set on four triangular legs. Diameter : 4 1/2 (11.5cm). The bowl is in good condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration. The thick glaze has run slightly around the rim, as can often be seen on these pieces. There are some light surface marks on the bowl commensurate with age and use and some small paint losses but nothing that detracts from the bowl. The colours remain bright and vibrant and it displays very well. The bowl is fully stamped and signed on the underneath with. In the’Limberlost’ Pattern. Fine example of a popular and rare Clarice Cliff pattern beautifully hand painted on a large bowl. The bowl displays very well and is unmistakably Clarice Cliff. The pattern shows a large stylised tree with brown trunk and red foliage above two green bands. The bowl has an inner brown rim. The bowl is fully stamped on the underneath with Fantasque. Bizarre by Clarice Cliff. The bowl is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and it is free from crazing. There are some very light marks on the inside of the bowl commensurate with age and light use and some surface scratches but nothing that detracts from the bowl. The colours remain bright and vibrant. There is a small imperfection on the rim which I have photographed which looks like it has occurred before painting and firing (see photos).
