Sumida Gawa Vintage Japanese Art Pottery Bowl (6) Figures on Rim Artist Signed. The bowl is in the Sumida Gawa style with figures perched over a koi pond. The work is nicely executed with good detail to the hand formed figures. The piece is finished in a blended glaze with patches of diffused color over the dark chocolate ground. The interior is forest green which shows rich color, good coverage and essentially no wear. The base bears the pictured incised character signature. The bowl is in very good condition with the only damage being a small sliver off the outside edge of one figure’s sleeve (pictured). There are two very fine, short firing lines on the unglazed bottom (please see the picture).
